Traveled to Philly for a crew regatta that my daughter Lauren raced in with the New York Rowing Association (NYRA). The regatta yielded some interesting shots on a hot and humid day. It’s a challenge shooting a subject on water, especially with a bright sun, as you have a highly reflective and changing surface that throws off a typical camera’s center-weighted meter. In this situation–if you can–it’s best to set your camera’s meter to a spot meter setting and open up the aperture one or two stops to better expose the subject.
