City Winery Bar Mitzvah Party

I had the pleasure of photographing a Bar Mitzvah party at City Winery in Tribeca this past weekend. Wonderful family with four children, with the oldest becoming the Bar Mitzvah. We made some family portraits prior to the party as well.

A Rockin’ Brooklyn Bar Mitzvah Party

The Bar Mitzvah party I photographed last Sunday rocked! — literally. Music for this Brooklyn Bar Mitzvah party was headlined by Rockmitzvah, which in addition to having a live band at your event, gets your kids (and even adults) involved in playing. And the Bar Mitzvah boy, Josh, his father and several of their friends are all great musicians. Both have their own bands as well. There was some serious classic rock being played and everyone was into it.

This gave the party a very unique feel, in addition to some of the traditional elements of such an event. Wonderful family to work with and we were even able to get some family portraits done in Prospect Park before the festivities.

…And Three Years Later, The Younger Brother’s Bar Mitzvah

Three years ago I photographed the older brother for his Bar Mitzvah. A few weeks ago, I captured his younger brother’s ceremony and event. The ceremony was at Temple Sha’aray Teflila on the Upper East Side, followed by a luncheon.

The kids party was held at 202 East later that evening nearby. Here are some images from the day’s events. Photographing a family’s second (or third) event is always nice for both the confidence they have in your abilities and the familiarity a photographer has with the family.

Scenes from a Bar and Bat Mitzvah party this past Saturday and Sunday: First, Saturday evening at Faculty House at Columbia University, a two-floor Bar Mitzvah party event.

Then Sunday, at Sunset Terrace at Chelsea Piers on the Hudson.

 

Riverdale, NY Bar Mitzvah 11/5/11

Here are some images from the Solomon Bar Mitzvah in Riverdale I shot on Nov. 5. Jerry Laskin Enterprises brought me in again to shoot this party and did an awesome job DJ’ing the event and kept the celebration at peak levels throughout the night.

Manhattan Bar Mitzvah Party 9-24-11

Bar Mitzvah season is here again. This past weekend I photographed a Manhattan Bar Mitzvah party at the Eventi Hotel on the West Side. Shot “Zap” photos for Jerry Laskin Enterprises. These photos taken at the party are displayed on two large flat panel monitors by the dance floor.

This type of photography is pretty free-form. You’re out on the dance floor and among the guests looking for some eye-catching candid shots to put up on the monitors throughout the event. Here are a handful of the over 400 images I took last Saturday night.

Manhattan Bar Mitzvah

Just finished editing photos from a Bar Mitzvah I shot in Manhattan in March with the kid’s party at Dave & Buster’s in Times Square. Very pleasant family to work with and very accommodating–especially when I took them outside for a few shots  in Times Square in the freezing weather! But everyone thought risking a little frostbite was worth it afterwards. Here are a few of  shots from the event.
