The San Gennaro Festival in Little Italy is both a religious festival, feast, an annual food fest (from sweet sausage to cannolis and gelato), street market and all around fun. Now in it’s 87th year, the festival runs for about 5 blocks down Mulberry Street and a few side streets. I visited San Gennaro this afternoon, during perfect day weather-wise, to slowly stroll the festival and take in the sites. BTW, this festival is not for the claustrophobic. the streets are jammed with people!
