San Gennaro Festival, Little Italy (NYC)

The San Gennaro Festival in Little Italy is both a religious festival, feast, an annual food fest (from sweet sausage to cannolis and gelato), street market and all around fun. Now in it’s 87th year, the festival runs for about 5 blocks down Mulberry Street and a few side streets. I visited San Gennaro  this afternoon, during  perfect day weather-wise, to slowly stroll the festival and take in the sites. BTW, this festival is not for the claustrophobic. the streets are jammed with people!

Food Market Weekend From Phili to NYC

I was in Philadelphia last Saturday checking out some of the city’s sites and ended up at the Reading Terminal Market in Center City, with food ranging from pastries, cheesesteaks (of course!) seafood and more.

Then Sunday, back in NYC, hoofed it over the East River to Brooklyn Bridge Park for Smorgasburg, an amazing food fair in DUMBO. Some amazing food vendors there with all sorts of dishes–and donuts too! Both venues offered great photo ops and I’ll have to get back to Smorgasburg again for some more photos — and lunch!

All photos were shot with my Nikon 1V2. I continue to be impressed with this camera. Powerful camera in a small package.
