Christmas Morning NYC 2012

Merry Christmas! Here are a few HDR-processed photos from my Christmas morning walk in Manhattan. Getting out early to see the store windows in mid-town Manhattan, and the Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree is a must if you want to beat the crowds. More store window photos later. Enjoy!

New Years Eve 2011-Central Park Midnight Run

The annual NY Road Runners Club Midnight Run is a festive time. Costumes and dancing in Central Park before midnight and then the runners hit the pavement for a 4 mile run at midnight with fireworks exploding in the sky as a send off. There’s a lot of energy there without being with 1 million people they corral into Times Square. Several thousand people attend this event each year. Here are some photo highlights from the New Years Eve celebration. Let me know what you think.

Holiday Blizzard NYC 12-27-10

Twenty inches of snow hit New York City through today and the winds were howling as well at about 40 mph. Of course this kind of weather makes for some interesting photos, so I trekked to Central Park in the morning. The walk to the park also made for some interesting shots, from blowing snow vehicles to the abandoned taxis and City buses on the streets. Click on the photos below to see more details of each image.

Christmas Day, NYC

A Christmas Day tradition we’ve had in our household the past few years is to get up early, walk down to see the department stores’ Christmas windows (from Bloomingdales down to Macy’s) with a stop at the Rockefeller Center Christmas tree, about a 40 block walk. Then it’s back uptown to one of our favorite local diners for breakfast.

Here are a few images from yesterday’s outing:

Christmas Lights NYC

No matter where you look in New York City you’ll find Holiday lights adorned on buildings and department stores with their windows decorated with engaging Christmas themes. One block near me always wraps the trees in lights every year, which makes for some nice photos and provides some great Holiday spirit.

Riverdale, NY Family Portrait Session

I did this portrait shoot recently for a Riverdale, NY family whose daughter was celebrating becoming a Bat-Mitzvah and had family coming in from various parts of the country and from Israel. Lots of cousins!
